My Best projects
Fruitastic Facts
For this project, I wanted to motivate myself and others around me to start eating healthier snacks rather than junk food. And what better way than by showcasing a variety of fruits? With my goal to eat more fruits and my love for the world of simplistic “kawaii” art, I passionately went to work creating my Fruitastic Facts vector drawings and my infographic poster.
I created these images by properly drawing over real photos of fruit and became proficient in controlling my mesh gradient tool.
The vector drawings of each type of fruit is the strongest element of my infographic.
Kozy Kuties
This was a logo and branding style project into which I wanted to incorporate my own personal style. After I had finished my Logo and Branding class, I felt inspired to create this packaging as part of my Senior Project. I utilized my own particular art style and handwritten typography along with distorted fonts to complete these designs.
The goal was to create a kawaii styled logo and branding for a cafe, which included packaging for a bag of coffee beans, a to go cup, and a to go box.
My logo design is the strongest element of my work on this project, as well as my use of an overall warm color palette.
Video Game Beverage Packaging
I was always a huge fan of video games and I still enjoy playing them sometimes to unwind at the end of the day. As creating designs for packaging is also a great passion of mine, I decided that I would combine two of these things that I enjoy so much.
My main inspiration for creating beverage styled packaging for this project was similar beverages I had seen at the mall, but with anime styled packaging. I figured this was the perfect way to combine my love for video games and package design, as well as my love for food and beverages.
I decided to utilize three popular video game franchises available on the Nintendo Switch into these designs for the beverage packaging. The first set of beverages are inspired by the Splatoon franchise, utilizing the color palettes of each game cover into each design. I named the flavors, "Strawberry Kiwi," "Orange Blueberry," and "Grape Lemonade," to match each color palette accordingly.
For the second set, I got my inspiration from the popular Nintendo game franchise, Super Mario Bros. I went into this design with cola beverages in mind and matched each name of each flavor with the theme and color palette of the designs.
Finally, I based the third set on Persona 4 Golden, which is a turn based RPG (Role Playing Game) developed by Square Enix. I had Japanese canned milk tea beverages in mind while creating the packaging for each design. I then created icons to match the names of each flavor.
Gotta Go Fast T Shirt
While starting this project, I brainstormed many different quotes to make into a T shirt design. I considered quotes from my favorite celebrities, my favorite video games, and my favorite books. I ended up deciding on the quote “Gotta Go Fast” started by the Sonic X anime’s American theme song. Playing Sonic was a fun part of my childhood, so putting this simple, yet recognizable quote on a T-Shirt design just felt right.
Throughout the project, I learned to make my handwritten typography sharper and fit well with the overall theme of my design.
Overall, my strongest elements within my T-shirt design are my color palette and my sharp handwritten typography. They capture the overall theme of a classic Sonic the Hedgehog game as well as carry the same energy and excitement of playing a Sonic game.
Tastebudz Phone Cases
While starting this project, I had many different ideas on how I wanted to design my phone cases. In the end, my final designs fit the best with my individual art style.
Throughout the project, I decided to experiment with hand written typography for the first time. I even gave my illustrations a drop shadow effect also for the first time, which helped me to step outside of my comfort zone.
Overall, I was happy that I was able to make my handwritten font playful and flow well with my overall theme.
Nest Packaging
While starting this project, I considered various products. I ultimately ended up deciding on packaging for sanitary hand care items, specifically, the Nest brand. I was mainly inspired by my mother who always brings hand sanitizer with her everywhere she goes, so I knew this project would interest her and other women like her.
Throughout the project, I experimented with textures in Dimension as well as created my own three dimensional assets. I did this to make my packaging look as realistic as possible.
Overall, my strongest element within my packaging is the purple color palette and the clear and plastic texturing on the bottles.
cartoon Lotions and Face Creams
My love for cartoons has always been with me ever since I was young. At the time during which we seniors were assigned to create our own individual projects, I had just discovered my love for body lotions (specifically at Bath and Body Works). Because of this, I thought combining these two things which I love would be perfect.
Throughout this project, I learned how to better adjust the lighting within Dimension, as well as creating my own backgrounds that fit with my cartoon theme.
Overall, my strongest elements are my illustrations for each lotion and face cream and my backgrounds, all of which combine to specifically appeal to a tween or teen demographic.
Juicetopia Logo and Branding
This was my final project in my Logo and Branding class. The objective was to create a logo based on any type of brand that came to mind. I decided to create a logo for a juice bar brand, which I named Juicetopia. The logo contained colorful waves.
I then designed the branding for some mockups to fit with the logo, specifically a business card, a letter, and a menu. I continued the overall color palette and the colorful waves from the logo into the business card, letter and menu.
My strongest element in this project is the color palette of my logo.
Weekly Logo Challenge Favorite Prompts
The Weekly Logo Challenge was one of the most fun and experimental projects on which I worked during my college career. I designed many logo prompts each week during in the semester. The Little Spoonfuls Baby Food, the Token World Games Retro Arcade, and Pamper Puppies Doggy Daycare prompts were my favorite designs.
While working on this challenge, I more fully developed my personal art style. I also learned to pick out proper color combinations which could easily and appealingly be converted into black and white.
Overall, my strongest elements are my color palettes and my hand drawn/handwritten elements within these featured logos.
Mother's Day Cards
I designed these three greeting cards in time for Mother's Day, not only as a project in college, but also as a gift for my mother. I felt this sort of project was the perfect way to finish off my final semester.
Each card has a minimalist design (much more simplistic than my usual style) to fit with the theme of a Mother's Day card. All three cards feature exterior designs of a mama bird and a baby bird interacting with each other. The interior of each card features a graphic on the left in relation to an object in the exterior, followed by a message on the right and a heart underneath.
Overall, the strongest element in my cards is the minimalist art style and my usage of drop shadows to make the birds and certain objects stand out.
